As a full time employee, mother, and wife I definitely need some “me” time on occasion. My husband will tell you that I don’t mind carving out that time for myself. I love being a wife and parent but I’ve never seemed to have a problem with taking time when I feel I need it. Of course honestly I take more time now for myself then I did many years ago when my boys were young. Most of the time my actually “me” time isn’t usually all about me, it often includes my daughter.
Saturday I woke up and informed my husband that I had a full day planned of errands and some other fun things. I started off taking my son to JcPenney’s to get a few new school shirts. He either decided to grow between August and October or his shirts are shrinking because they are getting a little too short for him. After dropping him back home Honey and I got started on our errands. Our plan was really just a trip to Walmart to pick up some needed items, however in the process we decided to stop for a little bit of girl relaxation in the form of pedicures.
What girl doesn’t love a little relaxation and some pampering. Honey has never really participated in a pedicure with me other then her favorite activity which is picking out my color.
We sat playing on the iPad while we waiting our turn. I love to play games with the kids on the iPad. We usually pick a game and take turns. Right now I’m trying hard to beat Buddy’s score in Fruit Ninja and haven’t even gotten close. Actually just yesterday Nick beat it. It appears I’ve lost my touch when it comes to video games.
I was quite surprised that Honey decided to participate in the pedicure and allowed the girl to paint her toes as well. She clipped them a little and shaped them up. She massaged lotion on Honey’s legs which she thought was funny. Here’s a pic of our cute toes. What do you think of the color?
Of course no “me” time would be complete with out a little treat. Since we were at Walmart we decided to just pick something up and take it back home for the rest of relaxation. What we ended up getting were a new item #DelMonte Peaches with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar, doesn’t that sound heavenly? Of course peaches by themselves does not a snack make for what we had planned so in addition to the peaches we picked up some ice cream.
How does that snack look? Honey actually decided not to take part in the rest of my relaxing day so it really did turn into me time. I took the #DelMonte Peaches with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar and warmed them up in the microwave. I love the contrasting cold and hot when I’m eating ice cream. I poured the peaches over the ice cream and then sprinkled with some extra brown sugar. OH MY it was the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. The sweet warm peaches against the cool ice cream with the added brown sugar was just wonderful. I enjoyed my bowl of heaven while doing one of my weekly “me” events which was to lay in bed and watch my shows for the week, specifically Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
Honey and I had a fabulous day together and we documented it in this Google Shop post Me Time with #DelMonte and a Little Honey #CBias Just click on the first post and you can scroll through the slide show.
