Last week if you remember my goal was to clean up my bathroom. Sadly because of my unorganized and plain old messy ways my husband has taken refuge in our spare bathroom. It may have been 9:30 Sunday even but I’m happy to say once again I have met my goal.

While cleaning and organizing my bathroom I thought I would share with you one of my best bathroom organizing tips. Instead of storing everything under your sink and then not being able to find anything when you need it purchase a over the door shoe organizer instead. Here is a photo of mine and I absolutely love using it for this purpose.
So of course with this goal completed that means time to set another goal this week. I told my husband just last night how making these single goals it is really helping get things down that I would have otherwise pushed off until the next week and the week after, and then one more.
My goal for this week is to finish my sons dresser so he can finally get his clothes back into it. My husband decided he wanted to strip, sand, and stain an old dresser of ours when the boys split into their own rooms. He had done quite a lot of it but then pinched a nerve in his back so I said I would help. So my goal is to not only have the dresser in the bedroom by Sunday evening but also be able to clean off our dining room table which is currently housing his clothes and a few other knick knacks of his.
So do you have any awesome organizing tips for any room in the house? I’m definitely not an organizer and could use any tips you have to offer.

I bought a 9 cube bookcase and some pretty baskets (3 of each color in 3 colors) for my daughter’s toys. I had this in the living room until we were able to fit it into her room and it still made an attractive addition and she was happy to have all of her toys available to her. We even sorted them in different baskets, balls in one, blocks in another, etc… It worked out really great!

That is great. I love using baskets as storage.

I use a shoe organizer like that when I travel and keep all of my toiletries rolled up so I just have to hang it on the bathroom door…never thought to do it at home as well. Thanks for the AHA! moment

That is a great traveling tip I love it!

Great job, and great tip! I love how you are breaking down your ‘to-do’s in small, doable tasks. I look forward to your next accomplishment!

I have been using this over the door shoe organizer for a while now in the bathroom. Especially since there are 4 of the 6 of us using it. I just have to keep revisiting the functionality of it every other week or so. Thanks for sharing… Now I have to organize my room… oh boy!

I’ve totally been trying to do more organizing. I try to spend just 5 minutes a day cleaning out something, anything. Looks much better!!

Not necessarily a huge tip, but I’d go through and weed out anything you haven’t used in a couple weeks, and put it aside to toss / donate / sell. I’ve been doing that recently and have found boxes worth of that!

Your bathroom looks great!! I use one of those shoe organizers over the door that goes between the laundry room and garage. My hubby keeps his keys, wallet all there at the ready. we also have spare cords, measuring tape, and all kinds of odds and ends there. I love that! I should put one in my bathroom too!
