As a fan of multitasking, there is a time and a place do to so. This, Apple, is not the time to do so. So my word of advice to Apple, though it has been shouted from roof tops around the world , is….
MAKE THE DAMN DELETE KEY A DELETE KEY
AND ADD A DAMN BACKSPACE BUTTON!
Yes I know there are tutorials out there that show you how to deactivate the delete key. That does not solve the problem. I want a backspace key that backspaces is that really so much to ask?
TerriAnn @ Cookies and Clogs says
I hear ya. That was and still is one of my biggest peeves. I hate having to mouse past to delete. Grrrr…
Colleen says
My biggest problem is it locks up my WordPress when I use the delete as backspace. I have to shut down my whole browser.
Or one time I wrote an entire post in Social Spark and then hit delete to backspace and it took me back a page and I had to rewrite the entire post.
Otherwise I’m a Apple girl!

I didn’t know that about Apple computers. That to me would definately make me hesitate on purchasing one. Soemtimes I type faster than I think, and my backspace key is my friend. LOL
Colleen says
Yes EXACTLY! This happens to me all the time and the backspace is like auto pilot for me. But SOMETIMES not all the time but somtimes with the Apple when you hit delete to go back it takes you back a WHOLE page so you loss whatever you were working on.
Also when it does that to me in WordPress when I’m writing a blog post it freezes up my browser and I have to quite the entire thing. Very frustrating!

I’ve used HP computers, which were pretty good, Dell, which were awful, and now I have a Gateway computer (had it about 6 months). I use Google chrome for my browser, and it has been problem free so far.
Andrea Kruse says
Lol. Oh, so true!!
Beth Larrabee says
That sounds frustrating! Hopefully by the time I get myself a Mac it will be fixed!
Mike says
Isn’t that why you hava mouse/track pad?
Colleen says
I don’t have a trackpad but I do have a mouse but if I misspell something I am use to hitting backspace to fix it vs highlighting with my mouse and retyping over it. To move from a keyboard to a mouse is not as user friendly, trust me I misspell a lot LOL!
Hanan says
Well, I’m glad I don’t have a Mac =P
Lynn says
I haven’t used a Mac, good to know that it’s key board is different.
Furgelnod says
If you’re using a Macbook or one of Apple’s mini desktop keyboards you can just hold down the function key (labeled fn) and press the “delete” (really a backspace key) to have the same function as the actual delete key (usually labeled del on standard layout pc keyboards). I hope that helps you and your readers.
