As a Florida resident I’ve seen my share of disasters and been in the path of a few. Thankfully for my family and I we came out on the winning end with little damage to our property. However not everyone is so lucky. With hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and many more deadly forces it is always important to protect yourself, your family, and your belongings.
However how many of us know exactly what our belongings are? Can you name everything of importance you own? Not many of us can recall each and every possession. That is why it is best to take a Home Inventory. One way to do that is by following these simple steps from NAIC : How to Create a Home Inventory List. Or if you live in the digital age like I do where everything is electronic I have a really cool solution and tool to help you create your own home inventory list.
NAIC has a free home inventory app for both iPhone and Android users. The free iPhone application is called MyHOME Scr.APP.book and lets you quickly photograph and capture images, descriptions, bar codes and serial numbers, and then stores them electronically for safekeeping. The app organizes information room by room and creates a back-up file for e-mail sharing.
This almost sounds like a fun task to take on. Download the iPhone MyHome Scr.App.book application or the Android MyHome Scr.App.book application FREE!
What a clever idea by NAIC, if you are in need of additional home insurance information check out NAIC today!

I wish i had done this 2 years ago before my home was broke in to. It was very difficult to try to make sure you figure out what all is missing. It was even harder to prove to my insurance company that items were owned when both my camera and computer were taken. If I had all my items and pictures on my phone, it would have been so much easier.
