Have you finished all your school shopping? No? Don’t worry your not alone I’ve barely started. A lot of it is the reluctance of my three wonderful children. Shopping for the boys means mom buys some clothes and brings them home for them to try on. Despite this small inconvenience, I find it much easier then dragging them to the store and listening to all the “are we done”, “yeah that looks fine”, “whatever lets just go home”. I’m a shopper I like to look at everything and get the best deal.
School Shopping at Old Navy
That is why I went to Old Navy last weekend. I heard about their under $10 sale and thought, “Now that sounds like a deal!” With three kids to buy for, deals are a must! Check out some of the great sales
Old Navy Back to School Shopping
Since the boys had no interest in shopping with me Honey came instead. Before we shopped for the boys we checked out some of the school clothes for her. She fought with me (strike through) agreed to try on two pairs of shorts. When we walked into the changing room I had to smile at what I saw.
Great Minds Think A Like
Any time I shop with my daughter as soon as we enter a changing room she has to designate where we put things “we like”, “maybe like”, and “don’t like”. Old Navy obviously thinks like my daughter!
With Honey hurriedly trying on her shorts and deciding they were not her style, (the reason they are not her style is because they were uniform shorts-she much prefers the hot pink or sparkly jean shorts), we did some shopping for the boys.
The jean shorts, which my older son wears, were completely gone. That is what happens when you have a great sale. We ended up finding two pairs of shorts for Nick who is required to wear shorts with a zipper and button and polo shirts.
The test was will they fit? Both shorts were the same size but unfortunately only one fit. That just means I will take them back and hopefully the store will be stocked to the brim with more school clothes to chose from. We went during the “tax free” weekend and let’s just say everyone else was doing the same thing.

Our store was packed last weekend (when we went shopping) and it wasn’t even tax-free weekend yet. And, my daughter goes for all of the sparkly stuff too!

I am not at all sad that I no longer have to buy clothes for school. I hate shopping.
Colleen says
I love to shop for myself but trying to find things for the boys is not always easy.
Ty @ Mama of 3 Munchkins says
I’m so loving those shorts and that shirt. I wish my son could wear regular clothes at school but he’s still in uniform, bummer!
Colleen says
We have uniforms in elementary school then they move to shorts with zippers and belt loops and polos for middle then in high school there is not much of a dress code (and probably where they need it I’ve seen some scary clothing)
HilLesha says
Oh my! Did I miss out on a good sale?
Colleen says
Definitely pretty good jeans for $10 and shirts for $5 but it is going on until 8/14 so haven’t missed it yet!
Mellisa says
We just got finished shopping at Old Navy today and found some great sales.
Kathleen says
He looks pretty darn happy with his picks! ON had some great deals for back to school, I picked the boys up a lot of things from there.
Colleen says
I think the boys selection is a little bit better then the girls, or at least my girl. She is very much ‘trendy’ . Old Navy has some great comfortable and what I think of relaxing/beach clothes which is less her style. But you can’t beat the prices.
Stefanie says
You can’t beat $10 jeans! Love Old Navy.
Shell Feis says
There’s a tax-free weekend?! &I love those white shorts, my husband would love them!
Becca @ Mama B says

I love Old Navy. My daughter always finds a ton of clothes when we go shopping there. I think they have great prices and the quality is good. My daughter is also picky but she usually finds things at Old Navy.
Rhiannon Rowland says
I order online from Old Navy for my oldest, they are one of the few stores that offer jeans to fit his 6’5 height. Wish Illinois had offered a tax free weekend!
Sarah L says
Colorado doesn’t have a tax free weekend. It would be nice to live somewhere that they do. I’m big on thrift stores for clothes.
Marcie W. says
We all love Old Navy in our family, even my super picky husband, but I will agree that their items occasionally fit differently despite being the same size. It is one of my only complaints throughout the many years I have been an ON shopper!
Anne - Mommy Has to Work says
He did a good job! I like that outfit!
