So if you popped in yesterday you may have read my husband’s review of Necessary Roughness. Well today is my turn to tell you my thoughts and if this is a movie that will become a must watch for us.
First I will start off by reminding you that Wednesday has been dubbed “Necessary Night-In” which is pretty much how my hubby and I spend our time. We don’t go out a lot and when we do it is rarely alone. We often have at least one if not all kids with us. Renting a movie or watching one of “our shows” is usually how we relax together (when hubby can get me off of the computer).
So I dressed up for our “Necessary Night-In” with Necessary Roughness with some great gifts (that you have a chance to win yourself)
If you are not familiar with Necessary Roughness (like I wasn’t) here is a quick overview:
The series centers on a tough Long Island divorcee who, in order to make ends meet, gets a job as a therapist for a professional football team. Her career begins to take off when athletes, musicians, politicians and other celebrities start to request her tough love therapy. She must learn to balance her new career with being a single mother.

I’m pretty flexible when it comes to watching shows with my husband. I like most things he does and really enjoy finding something we like together. So with popcorn in hand, and all dressed up for the occasion (after a great order in dinner from our local Chili’s down the street) we both sat back to relax and watch.
It took a little while for us to figure out what was going on since it is a drama and each episode is a continuation of the one before. However once we started to figure out what was going on I found the show interesting. It is a little early to “rave” about the show we need to watch a few more episodes. However I do like the main character Dr. Dani Santino. I think because she is strong and independent and I always lean towards these characteristics.
The show is definitely not all about football. I think it is more about the work Dr. Santino. How she works with her patients and helps them through their problems. I perfect plot for woman. However the football aspect really helps bring in the male audience. I was pleased to find that my husband enjoyed the show, and was more pleased to show him that we had received the first season on DVD. This will be great and give is the chance to spend some more time together starting from the beginning.

I haven’t had a “Necessary Night In” probably in 20 years. I have been a Mom since I was 17 so my nights are watching what the kids watch. I do DVR Necessary Roughness and have to say it is one of my favorite shows.

We are so busy with volleyball that I fear it has taken over our lives. I am planning our own necessary night in soon so we can all just chill out as a family around the t.v. or board games. Something other than sitting on uncomfortable bleacher seats. Bring on the popcorn.

I would try to have ALL TV’s turned off and sit around the table and play a game with the kids. If it was just my hubby and me, I would have computers turned off, sit down together and watch a movie!
