Mothers do a lot of effort for their family, and get the most love and pampering in return. It is time to give back the love you receive from your family, so they know that you are more than just a homemaker. Showing some extra gestures to your beloved folks will only add more luster to your motherly persona.
There is no better way of showing your affection than planning a special day for your loved ones. You may plan a day trip to a theme park, or a simple dinner and movie. The whole family can enjoy together on such trips; a picnic near a lake or waterfall can also be a great idea.
You can also do some nice things for your family by treating everyone individually. Someone who deserves as much pampering as you do is your husband; the bread winner also needs a break! Spoil him with something that he likes, and not necessarily one of the typical gifts like perfumes of shirts. You can treat him with a day at one of his favorite baseball matches, which he has been missing out on due to his busy schedule. You may also take a couple’s day-out to enjoy activities like parasailing or bungee jumping.
For your son, choose his favorite basketball shirt or the pair of sneakers he has been longing to have. If he is into video games, you can invest in one of his favorite video game consoles. You can also make him feel special by cooking a meal that he likes, or by buying him his favorite sports gear.
On the other hand, pampering your daughter is simple; take her out on a relaxing trip to the spa. Treat her to some deliciously soothing facials, pedicures, and massages. A fun day at the hair salon for a mother-daughter hair day can be a great option as well.
Now, if you are doing something special for everyone, how can you forget your own parents? They surely would’ve given you the same pampering back in the day. Give back some love by dropping in unexpectedly, bearing surprises for them. Also look out for some special events like their 75th birthday or 50th wedding anniversary; I took my pick for my parents’ 50th anniversary gifts from personalcreations.com. Surprise them warmly, with gifts that speak for themselves! Throwing a party on their birthdays or anniversaries can also be a great gesture.
If you don’t want to plan anything extraordinary, you can simply care for your old man and woman with a delicious home cooked meal on a candle-lit table.
The fact now remains that no matter how much you try, these little helpings of joy will cost you some money. For that, you can make it a habit to save up on a daily basis; it can be difficult with the burden of the bills, but surely not impossible. And the joy that you can give to your family is surely worth every penny!

Great ideas. We try to do a family dinner every week. We rotate between my sisters house and mine. During family dinner it is an eletronic free zone. No TV, cell phones, video gams. It gives everyone a litlle time together. Which I think is the best gift of all.

What a great blog post about how to take care of your family! I know that with my son he likes when I make his special meal for the day, or when we just go out and have fun together. It is so important to make sure that we care for our loved ones every day!

Every year on the last day of school I would take my son and his friends to a local amusement park. I would put money aside all year and we did everything there! It was worth every penny and he and his friends (all 23 now) still remember it!
