Hubby and I have finished the first 6 weeks of P90X as of this past Friday, so time for a two week update on our progress.
P90X Week 5
This was the toughest week for me. I’m not sure why, maybe stress, but I was really having trouble staying on the eating plan and my motivation to work out was less then positive. I think Thursday evening and Friday I pretty much went off plan and eat what I wanted, including some homemade pancakes (my favorite). My husband and I also skipped Thursday’s workout. He had a stressful day at work and really just wanted to come home and veg so we did. My daughter was sure to inform me that since we didn’t work out on Thursday we really should have worked on on Friday to make up for it. Can’t argue with her logic, however we also took our normal Friday rest.
Both my husband and I ended up gaining a little week this week.
P90X Week 6
Week 6 we both got 100% back on track. When I worked out on Saturday and Sunday I felt great. I felt strong and motivated. I stayed on track all week with not even one cheat. I also did a few sessions of Hip Hop abs, since we have not been doing the ab routine that comes with P90X. I plan this week however to do the P90X ab workout instead of the Hip Hop abs. I was rewarded on Saturday when I stepped on the scale.
Total Weight Loss
Colleen: Total loss of 8.1 lbs
Chris: Total loss of 11.6 lbs
My weight loss itself is not an impressive number but my clothes say it all. I have had to retired a few pairs of pants and shorts that are just way to big. I use to say I don’t want to buy any new clothes until I lose all my weight, because who wants to buy new clothes only to out grow them again. However I’ve totally thrown that theory out the window. Instead I find myself enjoying shopping. The better I look the better I feel so I’ve been purchasing some smaller clothing to go with my new slimmer look. My weight loss and toning up have dropped me at least one whole dress size.
