It is that time of the year, summertime, summertime, sum sum summertime! Yippee, the kids are out of school, time for vacations, time to put on those shorts, tank tops and flip flops or that swim suit and spend time outside catching a few rays. Living in Florida this is pretty much our daily attire however because we have sun all year long we, or I should say I, sometimes forget that the sun is much hotter and more dangerous in the summer.
I recently went to the beach with a friend for a few hours on a Sunday morning. I did a little swimming, took a walk on the beach, and just sat and had a chat. It was a very relaxing morning but one thing I forgot to do was put a higher sun block on and boy did I realize it about 2 hours after I got home. I was born and raised in Michigan and I remember getting burnt every summer. However, ever since I have lived in Florida it doesn’t happen that often. Therefore, I am a little out of practice as to how to help my skin recover. I found this great article on line called 5 Beauty tips for sunburn recovery on P&Geveryday.
5 Beauty Tips for Sunburn Recovery
- First tip – Moisturize– Sun exposure dries the skin, add moisture as soon as possible
- Second tip- Swap your makeup– Try a BB or CC cream, they hydrate at the same time hide imperfection
- Third tip-Stay Matte– Sunburns can make your skin look shiny so stay away from anything with glitter
- Forth tip-Go Light- It is natural to try and apply more makeup to hide the sunburn but don’t
- Fifth tip-Apply-Reapply-When you go back out in the sun make sure to re-apply sunscreen every two hours
These are just brief descriptions of the tips. I encourage you to read the entire article: 5 Beauty tips for sunburn recovery
