What is the one complaint most often heard when charging phones, blackberries, hand held games, MP3 players, etc? “I hate all these cords!” We have 6 people living in our home with a total of 5 phones, 3 Nintendo DS Lites (soon to be three my daughter is getting hers for her birthday), and 3 MP3 players. That is quite a lot of devices that need charging. I tried one of those charging stations but it was too bulky and just didn’t fit the devices properly.
I was so excited to be given the chance to review the PowerMat. I had heard about it and tried to win one several times in giveaways because that is just me. I like to have the newest, latest, and greatest when it comes to technology. I thought this product would be innovative and fun to review. I was not disappointed. When our shipment arrived it included the Home/Office Charger, the Portable Mat, one iPhone 3GS Receiver, 1 Nintendo DS Lite Receiver, and 2 Universal Power Cube Receivers.
What I really loved about this was the sleek design and the ease of charging your devices. I personally choose not to use the iPhone Receiver only because I already have a case on my iPhone so each time I wanted to charge I had to remove my case and put it in the iPhone Receiver case. However that was easily solved with the Universal Power Cube Receiver. With the Universal Receiver you can charge almost any device, such as iPhone, LG, Sony, Samsung, and more. This turned out to be great for us because 3 of the members in the house have LG phones.
We hooked up the Home/Office Mat and hid the cord behind the bar. It was great to be able to charge three devices without all the bulky cords showing, not to mention each outlet only allows for two cords unless you have an extension. The boys loved the cute little sound it makes to signal that the device is indeed being charged. You can adjust the volume and brightness of the mat as well.
In this photo you can see my iPhone in its receiver case, my son’s LG phone using the Universal PowerCube Receiver and also his Nintendo DS Lite in its receiver. Again I really like the sleek look of the mat. Having received the portable one as well this may be a good edition to my bedroom nightstand so I can charge my phone anywhere. The really nice thing about the portable mat is it folds up into an easy to carry case, which is perfect for those that do a lot of traveling, or even when yo go on vacation.
The Home/Office Mat Retails for 99.99 with the receivers between 29.99-39.99. They can be found at many major retailers such as Best Buy, Target, Staples, and more.
