I’m pretty sure there are not too many people that play this game. In fact I’m not even sure if it is a “real” game. However it is something my youngest son brought home with him one day after visiting with friends and it has really caught on with our family.
Did you ever play “punch buggy” or “kitty-cock-eye” when you were young? All of which are road games. Well that is the basis of what we call “Score“.
My kids and I were driving down the road and all of a sudden Nick yells out “SCORE!” and points to a yellow car.
He then explains to me the simple rules of this game. You just yell “Score” anytime you see a yellow car. I guess you could keep track if you wanted but we don’t. Some how it just caught on with all members of the family. I would be driving with my daughter and she would scream out “SCORE“. Even on trips with my husband he and the kids battle over who said “SCORE” first.
To show how much it is so engrained in our head you will often find us watching a movie on TV when someone will yell “SCORE“. Or in mid conversation we will break off and point to a yellow car “SCORE“. I have even started capturing photos on my phone and texting them to my boys and husband to prove my “SCORENESS“.
You should give it a try it is quite entertaining and you would be surprised how many yellow cars you see on the road.
Do you and your family play any unusual or unique games on the road or at home?

That sounds like a fun one! We always play the A to Z game in the car. Everyone has to start at A and find every letter of the alphabet in order as we drive to our destination. You cannot use the same letter that someone else has already claimed. This often includes a few battles over who said the letter first. it’s fun though!

That’s one we don’t play, but now I’ll have the whole family doing it lol.

I’d just like to say that I personally invented the game of “score” a couple years ago. I introduced it to my friends and family, who started playing with their friends and family, and so on. Now people are playing it all over the place! It’s amazing to watch:) but the thing is, a lot of people are starting to hit eachother when they yell score. Like the punchbuggy game! It bothers me cause those aren’t the original rules, so I say that I created the game and they they’re playing it wrong, but then they just laugh. Darn
