Call me crazy but the idea of registering for a Spartan Race sounds quite exciting. I little bit of mud, running, mud, running, and did I say mud? Yep this is a “dirty” race an excuse to play in the mud. It is not something I would normally think sounded fun at all but the challenge in it excites me.
Wondering what Spartan Race is? Check out this pretty cool video.
Thankfully they won’t be in my area until February 23, 2013 so I have more then enough time to get in shape and really see if I can live up to the challenge. I just need to get my butt in gear and stay true to my resolution of Health in 2012.
One thing I love about Spartan Race is it is not just for men. Spartan Race is also one of the only events offering a kids race and a women’s network with Spartan Chicked- the race is one that promotes family, community, and overcoming obstacles.
Spartan Race also provides its participants with a daily workout, a weekly newsletter, and inspiring blogs that will help you get from the couch to the finish line within 45 days. I encourage you to sign up for a Spartan Race near you and challenge yourself!
Spartan race offers a race for everyone so don’t let that be your excuse, from a 5K for beginners to 40+ mile events for seasoned Spartans. If you are interested or have a few questions be sure to check our their frequently asked question section.
So tell me does the thought of trudging through mud for an endurance challenge excite you? Or does it sound totally against all things sane?

Talk about a challenge! My first reaction is “no way I’m up for that” but then I think, “wow, that would be a neat challenge to accomplish!”

Very cool hearing and reading about the various Spartan races & workouts out there in recent years. Good buzz post-300 a few years back.

Well, I wish you luck…break a leg! I know I wouldn’t be doing that anytime in the near future because of a herniated disk in my neck…but have fun!
