Do you ever think what is the one thing you would miss most if something happened to your belongs? For me and for many people the answer is our photos. Before computers became my photo storage area I use to ponder how I would get them out the door or which ones I would take if something happened suddenly and I had to flee my home.
Once my main storage became my computer I planned to burn them all to CD and store my photos somewhere safe. Turns out you can only fit so many on a CD and I never took the time to research where to store them. One alternative is online storage but that can become costly quick. I’ve found the answer in the SanDisk Memory Vault. This compact storage unit is small and easy to grab in an emergency. Not to mention it can hold quite a lot. The SanDisk I was given to review is 16GB.
Introducing the SanDisk Memory Vault, the first product from SanDisk engineered to preserve your most important photos, videos, documents, and scanned files for generations to come.
SanDisk Memory Vault features Chronolock™ technology:
Engineered to preserve the quality of photos and videos long term
Tested to support data retention for up to 100 years*
Physically designed for long-term reliability and durability
I moved all my photos from 2000 through 2010 onto the ScanDisk Memory Vault which was a total of 5,312 photos. It took a matter of less then 5 minutes for them to copy over. My only complaint is I can’t seem to find anything to let me know how much storage space I have left. I do like the stickers that come with the vault and the stylish black case. I can’t say enough how the size is what impresses me the most. It is so compact and can be thrown in a suitcase or purse fore easy transport. I took a photo of it next to a crayon so you can get the full effect of its size.
The 16 GB ScanDisk retails for $89.99 right now on Amazon.com. However if you are not quite in need of a 16GB and 8GB will fit your needs you can pick one up for only $49.99. Considering the use of this item I think it is a great item to have for a secure and safe backup of the things most important to you.
Family Photos Rank First Among Items to Save From a House Fire
Aside from a family member or pet, family photos rank first among the items U.S. adults would save from a house fire. However, more than half of U.S. adults say that they could not gather all of their important family photos within one minute. The SanDisk Memory Vault lets consumers consolidate family photos in one reliable location and quickly access their important images when they need them.
