Long time readers of Shibley Smiles might remember a weekly post I use to do called “Kids Say the Cutest…” where I would post funny quotes that my children would say that made me smile or laugh. It has been quite some time since I posted a quote but there is a website that is devoted to this very subjected called Bitty Blurts.
Created by a mother of a 4 year old, 1 1/2 year old, and one on the way the author of Bitty Blurts began posting quotes on Facebook. She found that readers were visiting daily to read what her 4 year old had to say. She was urged by her readers to say the quotes and write a book. She did the next best thing and started her own website.
As a freelance writer and writing for friends on their blogs creating Bitty Blurts just seemed like the next step to take. Moving her quotes from Facebook to her own site and opening the site for others to submit their own quotes Bitty Blurts was born. We all know that children are truthful sometimes to fault like this conversation I had with my daughter…
I was trying to finish up the laundry. In doing so I decided I wanted to wash the bra I had on. So while in the laundry room I took off my bra, still had my top on, just removed the bra.
I threw the bra, or “boobie bra” as my daughter calls it into the laundry basket. My daughter turns and looks at me, shirt still on.
She says “Look!”, and points at my chest, “Now they are saggy!”
Bitty Blurts is full of quotes like this from children of mother’s just like us who love to share their innocent humor with the world. All post on Bitty Blurts are moderated and approved before posted. This is definitely a site to bookmark and visit daily. It is sure to bring a smile to your face. I’ve browsed it myself and laugh each and every time.
I encourage you to stop by and support this fellow mother and submit your own quotes, leave a comment, or just take some time to read and share some of these innocently humorous quotes from children.

I cant wait to go to this site. Kids do say the funniest things. My little nephew who is 5, lifted his middle finger to his mom and said, “look mom, I am swearing at you”

I’d always promised myself that I would answer ALL questions my sons would ask, no matter what. Until one day, one of my twins who was around 4 asked me “Mom, what’s a virgin?” WELL! I choked, spluttered, swallowed and stalled. We hadn’t even covered the facts of life with their older brother yet. I wasn’t prepared. So, stalling some more I asked “What do you mean?” (STUPID, I know) And he replied, to my great relief “You know, when you tell your virgin of the story and then I tell my virgin?” This one I never forgot!

I created an awesome bloody zipperface on myself for Halloween…I was taking my cousin’s kids out trick or treating. I have to admit, it looked very real! My cousin’s 6 year old saw it and stepped back…he asked me if it was real, and I told him, “yes, that I just unzipped my face!” He told me, “Well, I’m not scared…but can you please zip it back up?” I thought that was pretty funny!

When my son was about 5 years old…his first handmade Mothers Day gift to me was a laminaed “Handprint on the Wall” poem. Beautifully done…with his handprints…he meticulously wrapped in up and teased me with it for several days. On Mothers Day…I joyfully opened the present paying close attention to his reaction. Of course…..I shed many tears at how beautiful it was and the wonderful reminder of how quickly children grow up.
My precious baby boy looked at me and with some degree of seriousness asked “Do you like it Mamma?”. “Very very much, son…..I love it!” He replied back with a nit brow…..”…then why you eyes leakin?” That picture has been hanging on my wall for the last 25 year and always warms my heart when I see it.
