Overall I have had a very enjoyable weekend. However I’m writing this post at the diagnostic center as we are waiting for my son to get an x-ray. Buddy and Nick joined a friend and took a trip to a local skate park. I guess at the very end Buddy was doing some type of move with his skateboard and twisted his foot/ankle. Just to be safe the doctor wants to get an x-ray to make sure none of the bones in the foot are broken.
On a lighter note We started the hooked on phonics system with Honey this weekend. She is just so eager to learn to read I figured as long as she enjoys it we would work on it. She was so excited to be able to read a few stories to her dad and grandmother.
Honey really got into the super bowl wanting to prepare some super bowl snacks. She made cheese dip and chips waking up just minutes before kickoff. She rushed around the kitchen to get it ready. She actually watched the whole game with us getting excited when we did. She couldn’t wait for the half time show she LOVES the Black Eyed Peas. It was a decent show though the sound seemed off a little I give them props for doing it live. Though the team we were rooting for did not pull it off I did indeed win the first quarter in our office football pool for the first time taking home $125. Also Honey was quite cute, while putting away the groceries we played some “grocery” football. She would toss me the food and I put it away int the pantry. She said it was just like the football game tonight. This is the type of things we like to do to make our chores FUN!
I have a cute story about Honey and a magazine cover that I will be posting about later. Sometimes I think that girl thinks she is 15 not 5.
Hope your weekend was fun or if you prefer uneventful.

Good Luck with Hooked On phonics. I looked at it for my oldest a few years back. I ended up getting a book called Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy lessons. He was reading big chapter books by the summer before kindergarten. Kids are sponges! 🙂
I've gotten a little slack with my third child! lol I might need to go find that book!
Hope everything turns out okay at the doctor!

I hope there wasn't any type of fracture in that x-ray.
I love how much fun Honey had during the game!

Man, she's going to be a dream date when she is older if she hangs on to that football interest! Which also inspires me to find a way to make our chores more fun…for my own sake!

Was it broken? (Hope not…) For what it's worth, Sk8terdude has broken his arm four times but NEVER from a skateboarding accident. (Okay, so he did have a concussion once from a skateboarding accident, but I digress.) And OlderBrother has broken HIS arm four times and also never from skateboarding! (And before someone decides to call child protective services, let me just add that they were all legitimate accidents – everything from tripping over someone in basketball practice to getting hit in the wrist by a plastic hockey stick.)
