In an attempt to stop the food chain cycle I’m making an effort to cook more at home. I admit I’m more of a follow a recipe than create one. However I’ve decided now is the time to think outside the box. My co-worker is always telling me how she just throws a bunch of stuff in a pop and cooks it up. It always smells so good! So I did just that and while I started out in one direction I ended up in another with this Sweet Chili Sloppy Joe Recipe!
Sweet Chili Sloppy Joe Recipe
I haven’t made my mom’s sloppy joe recipe in ages, or at least I assume it is my mom’s. I use to make it quite often and got compliments. Her sloppy joe recipe has a totally different flavor then this new Sweet Chili Sloppy Joe Recipe I created. Due to the brown sugar it is the perfect combination of sweet flavors. It is very easy to cook since you simply add all the ingredients in one pan.
You can also change the amount of each ingredient to cater to your own tastes. This is such an easy recipe to make for the whole family, ready in a matter of minutes!
- 1 lb hamburger
- 3 Tbsp Hidden Valley Sweet Chili Dressing
- 1/4 cup green or white onions
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1 Tbsp Red Hot Sweet Chili sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Begin browning meat. Once meat is beginning to brown add ingredients and continue to cook until meat is fully cooked. Place on bun and serve.
My daughter who LOVES meat but doesn’t care for bread much loves to just eat it by the spoonful! This was a great recipe for my family for lunch on the weekends or an easy meal to make when I get home after a tired day of work. The Hidden Valley Sweet Chili salad dressing is amazing. I used it the other day to dip my pretzels in. It gave the usual dry taste a nice kick. Stop by your local Walmart today to pick some up, but first grab this $1.00 coupon.

That dressing sounds delish. The sloppy joes sound delish too. Puts a whole new light on sloppy joes. I’ll have to try these as I love to change a recipe around. Thanks for the post.

I didn’t even know they had this dressing! I need to start looking instead of just grabbing the usual ones like Ranch and Italian. Pft! This recipe sounds delicious.

I’d like to make this with the Roasted Garlic.

I saw a big display of those new Hidden Valley flavors at Walmart. The sweet chili would have been my choice too for those sloppy joes.
