Who doesn’t like Christmas? Ok other than the Grinch and Scrooge, ummm didn’t they both end up liking Christmas in the end? Anyway one thing I love about Christmas is the baking, the crafting, the gifting, and the surprises. It is often hard to surprise family members though over the years I think I’ve done a good job of surprising the children when it comes to gifts. I always put doubt in their mind regarding their must have present, or sneak in a few ideas that really through them off the path!
One thing we have done at work in the past is host a Secret Santa. All you have to do is put your name in a hat (Santa hat of course) to participate. The best way to participate is to give little gifts throughout the month. You can enlist others to deliver the gifts, put them in their mail slot, or on their desk when they step away. The best part is finding unique, and fun gifts to give, or even delight full ones like this fun gift box I created for my “Nutty” co-worker.
Knowing my co-worker I put her favorite things inside. Muffins (because she eats them every morning), chocolate covered pretzels (a little salt and chocolate), nuts (cause she is nutty), and a fun Santa buck chocolate bar. Of course it is important to let your recipient know where the gift came from (just make sure someone else writes the note for you).
I had a fun time putting together my first Secret Santa treat. In fact, I got the idea from BIC Mark-It™ markers in a fun digital pdf that I downloaded with all types of ideas. You can get the booklet of merry marking and a coupon to start marking . I encourage you to grab the coupon because the BIC Mark-It™ markers are a crafters delight. We have the box of 36 markers and a set of 8 Metallic markers, and they are great for notes, tags, and other amazing crafts. The fade-resistant ink is low odor and acid free (no added acid, no measurable pH) so you don’t need to worry!
I encourage you to download the booklet and start crafting your own fun holiday surprises. I also would like to challenge three amazing people with a little bit of craftness in their blood. Trisha from Momdot.com, My mother, and Angie! Ready Set Go! When you create your craft using your BIC Mark-It™ don’t forget to tag your post and social media with #BICMerryMarking and your specific color hashtag (found in the book), for example mine is #PeachParfait!

You’re a good Secret Santa! It’s also very wise to have someone else write the note for you. 🙂

I love Bic and being a Secret Santa… I agree with Liz, maybe I’ll have someone else write my note since my recipient might recognize my handwriting. 🙂

Haven’t done a secret santa in years. We have a white elephant thing for Christmas at my friend’s house. Fun to see what people bring.

I love using markers like this to decorate little notecards for our daughter who is in college. She really enjoys getting mail, so I have to check out their ideas for other things to send her.

Secret Santa is so much fun! We actually do it within my family, but there aren’t many of us and we all have big mouths, so we usually find out who has who before Christmas day.
