Health, Fitness, Health, and Fitness the topics of 2012 here at Shibley Smiles. I can’t say enough times how important this goal is to me right now. I watch the Biggest Loser, I listen to horrific stories in the news of people leaving this world too early. Sometimes because of their own recklessness with their lives. I think to myself did these people not think of the children they left behind? I thank God that I am not in terrible health. I have a little weight to lose and I do need to strengthen my heart, my muscles, and mind. What better gift to give to your family then your own health. To help me along this goal I have enlisted several tools that I’ve spoke about in the past week. Today I’m going to introduce you to a new tool the MapMyFitness Quaker Challenge.

I joined the challenge 8 days ago and am working on not only meeting my goal of 15 but surpassing it. I am logging many different activities in the challenge. In the past 8 days I’ve gotten up at 5:30 to hit the gym, I’ve walk/run for 25 minutes outside, I’ve played games on the Kinect with my daughter, and I’ve worked out with my husband and the gym. I don’t have a schedule or a definite plan. I’m fitting in activities and fun whenever I can.
One of the things I really love about this challenge is the ability to link up to your own fitness devices. The MapMyFitness Quaker Challenge allows you to link up your Fitbit, Nike+, Polar, and more. With the linking of my Fitbit it tracks my activities for me.
