The Gruffalo Synopsis
A mouse is taking a stroll through the deep, dark wood when along comes a hungry fox, then an owl, and then a snake. Since the mouse “looks good” to all, he explains that he’s meeting the Gruffalo! As Mouse explains, the Gruffalo is a creature with terrible claws, and terrible tusks in its terrible jaws, and knobbly knees and turned-out toes, and a poisonous wart at the end of its nose. But Mouse has no worry to show. After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo.
The Gruffalo, a cute story of a mouse and his stroll through the woods, is playing right now at a Kidtoon theater near your. I wasn’t quite sure what Gruffalo meant or what it was, and you will have to watch yourself to find out!
The Gruffalo won the gold award (in the 0–5 years category) of the 1999 Nestlé Smarties Book Prize. It was the UK’s best-selling picture book of 2000, won the 2000 Nottingham/Experian Children’s Book award, and the Blue Peter Best Book To Read Aloud award. The audio version won the Best Children’s Audio award in the Spoken Book Awards.[3] In November 2009 the book was voted “best bedtime story” by listeners of BBC Radio 2.[4] In a 2010 survey by UK charity Booktime, the book came first in a list of children’s favourite books.
