Let’s admit it gone are the days of Saturday morning cartoons when little blue men raced across your screen. Now kids can watch cartoons non-stop any time of the day. However as a parent I have learned not all cartoons are good cartoons. Some are to violent for kids, and some were made with adults in mind. What better way to monitor your child’s cartoon watching with the new iPad App Toon Goggles.
With the Toon Goggles video streaming application, children can watch unique, kid-safe cartoons from around the world when and where they want. Toon Goggles, a children’s entertainment online channel, offers an unlimited amount of parent-friendly cartoons that will entertain kids for hours on end! Shows are sorted by genre and vary in length from fun shorts to engaging episodes and full-length features. Toon Goggles is a completely safe and protected service for children of all ages to view cartoons that have never been available to them!
I downloaded the iPad app and handed over to my seven year old daughter to check it out and review it for me. She was greeted with a colorful screen with a few featured options.
She immediately skipped all the colorful graphics and navigated to the bottom bar where she selected “Shows” to see what her options are. She always goes straight to the heart of everything. From here she was given several options to select a show she wanted to watch.
As you can see she can choose from a list of categories such as boys, girls, action, comedy, pre-school, educational and more. I’m not really sure where she went from their but she ended up on ABC Monster and said she liked the shows there. On the screen above if you are a registered user (which is free) you can “heart” the show to save it in your favorites for easy location later. The graphics are great and I love that I don’t have to worry about whether the cartoons are kid appropriate or not. I can hand it over and know my daughter is safe watching her cartoons.

This is a really great idea because it’s two-fold! First is that you can help monitor what your kids watch but secondly, kids LOVE playing with iPads so they are happy about that and you get to use the TV
