Edy’s Slow Churned Ice Cream
If you had your choice to taste taste any “type of item what would it be? Mine would more then likely be a dessert. I’m not much of a cake person, pies are ok, I do enjoy candy…wait a minute! How about ice cream?! Yes I would pick ice cream. This is just what I had my daughter do for me, she was my taste tester trying a yummy new version of Edy’s Slow Churned Ice Cream
This is just a handful of yummy flavors. This was about all I could grab from our local grocery store because one day the case is full the next it is empty. These seem to be pretty popular here in our area. I absolutely love the sizes of these little treats. When it comes to ice cream I tend to take more then an average portion. By having the correct serving already measured out for me there is no chance of this happening. This was the first time I had seen these or even tried an Edy’s brand ice cream. So lets see what my daughter thought.
As with anything the first decision is crucial…which flavor to start with?
Of course she helped me pick these out at the store, but still do you try the one you “think” you would like first or save it for last. She made her decision and began to dig in taking a bite of each yummy Edy’s Slow Churned Ice Cream.
While she is testing the different flavors let me fill you in on another great reason I love this ice cream:
Edy’s Slow Churned Light Ice Cream has all the creamy taste of regular ice cream, but with half the fat and one-third fewer calories. Available in more than 20 iconic ice cream flavors – from Mint Chocolate Chip to Rocky Road – Slow Churned is quickly becoming a better-for-you, family favorite, found in freezers across the country.
Psst! (And it taste good too) The proof is in the photo!
Honey decided she preferred the plain vanilla. This way she can spruce it up with a few cherries (her favorite) and maybe even a few nuts and drizzle of chocolate. You can’t blame a girl for wanting a little fun with her ice cream! As a mother I’m very happy with the less fat and calories, especially when allowing my kids to have a little treat.
Now I just need to go over and take this beautiful smile and upload it Edy’s Reason to Smile page on Facebook. By doing so I’m doing more then just showing off what I think is a gorgeous smile. I’m also supporting a worth while cause. Check it out!
Support with a Smile:
- For every “ice cream smile” photo uploaded to Edy’s Facebook page, $5 will be donated to Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity.
- The goal is to give away more than 25,000 scoops of ice cream, capture 25,000 photos of ice cream smiles before summer’s end.
- These efforts will help deliver more than 500 reconstructive surgeries to children around the globe suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.
- Of the photos submitted, ten lucky smiles will be featured in a Edy’s Slow Churned print ad.
- One lucky picture will win a coveted spot on the cartons of a Slow Churned limited-edition flavor, being re-introduced to store shelves in early 2013.
Did you read that? You may have your mug, or your little’s ones on cartons of Slow Churned ice cream. That sounds pretty cool! So stop by and upload your own Reason To Smile and follow the conversation at #ReasonToSmile

I am also a vanilla girl! I want to top with chocolate or Strawberry topping. Or have my vanilla with a piece of pie. I hope Edy’s gets all the pictures needed for a worthy cause, I have several family members with cleft palates, so feel for any child with this condition.

I wouldn’t mind helping out with a taste test. Dreyers was passing out this size ice cream at the Denver County Fair today. (looked around & found out they are the same company, just different names in different parts of the country)
