Whoonu by Cranium
I’m always looking for a great family games. One that my 7 seven year old daughter can play and have as much fun as my 15 year old son. I’ve always been a huge fan of Cranium, in fact it is my favorite adult games.
This game by Cranium, Whoonu, is one of the simplest yet funniest games we have played. We have had this for a couple of years but we just got it back out again this weekend so I thought I would share. I totally recommend it! I will give you a quick run down of how it is played.
This is the rules for 4 people:
You lay out each stack of coins (points) 1 through 6. One person is “it” so to speak. That person will deal four cards to the other 3 people. The other 3 people must look at the words on all four of the cards and decided which two they think would be the favorite of the person that is “it”. The other two cards are discarded. When each player has selected their two cards they hand them over to the person that is it.
That person looks at all six cards and puts them in order from favorite to least favorite in front of each stack of tokens. With least favorite in front of the 1 and most favorite in front of the 6. Then they turn over each card one by one and when your card is shown you pick up that coin. At the end of game (when each person has been “it”) everyone ads up the total on their coins to see who wins.
This game is so easy to play but so fun. You groan when you have a terrible hand, like when we played and I had my son who is a super picky eater. My choices for his favorite were : spiders, brownies with nuts, tomatoes, and pickup trucks. Trust me none of these are his favorite things. Or you get excited when you know you definitely have the favorite card.
